Friday

Music-Kings of Leon Aha Shake Heartbreak. This is a loose, strange, tuneful, sexual, and very original little record from Oklahoma. It's a shame I had to have it shipped over from the UK.

I saw a fairly large and overly elaborate Buddhist temple on the dash of a car today and thought of myself.

When buying CDRs beware of clever marketing that suggests some are better for music and have pretty colorful cellophane etc. I have it on good authority that a CDR is a CDR. I bought a spindle of 50 that had very little in the way of packaging, and said 'for data use' on them for nine bucks. The pretty version was 29.97. I've tried them and I can't tell the difference. If you use a stereo component to burn then you already know there is a difference in what you can use, the above refers to copying on a pc.

Ok I've been trying not to address this topic for a few days now, but I can't fight this feeling anymore. I'm not scrooge, and I do enjoy the holiday season. I suppose that's my problem I want to enjoy the holiday season, not rush it. Christmas has come way to early this year. Christmas ads are everywhere on TV, there is a radio station here that has already begun playing Christmas music. Not mixing in Christmas music mind you, but ALL Christmas ALL the time. My next door neighbor has Christmas lights up and on as of last night. WTF? I can barely tolerate Christmas music on Christmas day, lights are nice in season etc. But can we have Thanksgiving first? Of course Thanksgiving isn't a spending based holiday so there you go. I'm not giving anyone diamonds, and no one is giving me a Lexus no matter how many times I see the Jedi guilt trip ad campaign.

Speaking of giving thanks, I'd like to thank Sunny 95, Old Navy, Gordon's Jewelers, and my fucking next door neighbor for getting me bummed out about Christmas over three weeks early. And Santa better not step to me either.
